God's Desire:

What does God desire, and what pleases Him apart from faith?

Nothing apart from faith can truly please God. Faith is the foundation for all that God desires and what brings Him joy. Every action, thought, or intent that pleases Him flows from a heart of faith. However, faith itself is not isolated—it manifests in actions, attitudes, and a way of life that aligns with God's will.

  • Faith is central to fulfilling what God desires:

From this verse  (1 Timothy 2:3-4), we can see two primary desires of God:

  1. The Salvation of All People
  2. The Knowledge of the Truth

While God desires the Salvation and knowledge of the truth for all people, these blessings are realized only through faith. Faith is both our response to God’s call and the means by which His desires for us are fulfilled.

1. Salvation Through Faith

  • God desires the salvation of all but He does not impose it. He invites us to receive salvation and to respond in faith by grace through Jesus Christ.
  • John 1:12: "Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God."
  • All Who Receive Salvation and Call Upon God Have a Relationship with God as His Children

How to Become Children of God?

       1. In our part: Through our faith in Him Galatians 3:26

Hear and Believe in the Gospel: Galatians 3:2

  • Receive the Holy Spirit and Become Children of God

      2. In His part: Ephesians 1:4–5, 1 John 3:1

2. Knowledge of the Truth Through Faith

  • Faith is necessary to understand and accept the truth of the Gospel.
  • John 8:32: "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
  • Faith allows us to see Jesus as the truth (John 14:6) and to live in the freedom He provides.

God’s Part and Our Part

1. God’s Part:

  • God provides the way of salvation through our faith in Jesus Christ.
  • He reveals the truth of the Gospel through His Word and the work of the Holy Spirit.
  • He draws people to Himself, giving them the opportunity to believe (John 6:44).

2. Our Part:

  • Faith: We must respond to God’s call by trusting in Him and believing in His Word.
  • Repentance: Turning away from sin and toward God is a step of faith.
  • Submission: Faith leads us to surrender to God’s will and live in obedience to Him through Jesus Christ, who is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

Both Salvation and coming to the Knowledge of the truth require faith. Faith is the foundation through which we receive what God desires for us, including salvation and the understanding of His truth.

Why Faith Is Required

1. Salvation Is Through Faith

  • Ephesians 2:8-9: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast."
  • Faith is the means by which we accept God’s free gift of salvation. Without it, we cannot access the grace He offers.

2. Faith Aligns Us with God’s Truth

  • Hebrews 11:6: "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him."
  • Faith opens our eyes to spiritual realities, allowing us to accept and trust the truth revealed in the Gospel.

3. Faith is the Foundation of Our Relationship with God

  • Galatians 3:26: "For in Christ Jesus, you are all children of God through faith."
  • By faith, we are adopted into God's family and come to know Him as our Father.

4. Faith Leads Us to Surrender to God’s Will

  • Faith enables us to trust in God’s sovereignty and goodness, prompting us to surrender our own plans and desires to His perfect will.
    • Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."
    • Surrender is an act of faith, acknowledging that God’s plans are higher and better than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9).

5. Faith Leads Us to Live in Obedience to Him

  • True faith results in obedience because it stems from love and trust in God.
    • John 14:15: "If you love me, keep my commands."
    • Faith is not passive; it is active, producing works that reflect our relationship with God (James 2:17-18).
  • Obeying God’s commands out of trust in His goodness pleases Him.
  • 1 Samuel 15:22: "To obey is better than sacrifice."

6. Faith through Jesus Christ, Who Is the Way, the Truth, and the Life

  • The statement connects obedience and surrender to Jesus Christ, emphasizing that faith is centered on Him as the only way to the Father.
    • John 14:6: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
    • Jesus is both the model and the means for living in obedience. By abiding in Him, we bear fruit that pleases God (John 15:4-5).

7. Faith-Rooted Love

  • Love for God and others pleases Him because it reflects His nature.
  • Galatians 5:6: "The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love."

8. Gratitude and Worship in Faith

  • Thankfulness and worship arise when we trust God’s sovereignty and goodness.
    • Psalm 147:11: "The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His steadfast love."

9. Faithful Pursuit of Justice and Mercy

  • Acting justly and showing mercy, driven by faith, mirrors God’s heart.
    • Isaiah 1:17: "Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed."

10. Sharing the Gospel in Faith

  • Telling others about God’s love and salvation pleases Him because it fulfills His mission.
    • Romans 10:15: "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

Romans 14:23, "Whatever does not proceed from faith is sin." This underscores the truth that faith must undergird every action that pleases God. Without faith, even outwardly good deeds lack the spiritual foundation that aligns them with God's will.

Why Faith is Essential to All Actions:

1. Faith Acknowledges God's Sovereignty

  • When we act out of faith, we are recognizing God's authority and trusting His guidance, rather than relying on our own wisdom or strength. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord in all our ways, which is the essence of faith.

2. Faith Makes Actions Pleasing to God

  • Even noble deeds, if done without faith, fail to glorify God. Faith transforms our actions into acts of worship, connecting them to His purposes. For instance, giving to the poor without faith in God's provision might spring from human effort rather than reliance on Him.

3. Faith Keeps Us Dependent on Grace

  • Faith acknowledges that we are saved by grace, not by works (Ephesians 2:8-9). Our good works are the fruit of our salvation, not the cause of it, and faith ensures that we always attribute our strength and ability to God.

4. Faith Reflects a Relationship with God

  • Faith is the channel through which we commune with God. When we love, serve, or obey, faith ensures that these actions flow out of our relationship with Him rather than as mere obligations.

Examples of Faith-Accompanied Actions:

  • Obedience: Abraham’s obedience to God when called to sacrifice Isaac was credited as righteousness because it was rooted in faith (Hebrews 11:17-19).
  • Love: Love is an expression of faith working through love (Galatians 5:6).
  • Holiness: Holiness stems from faith that God’s Spirit sanctifies us (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24).

Practical Application:

When living out the commands that please God, continually ask:

  • "Am I doing this in faith?"
  • "Am I trusting God’s promises as I act?"
  • "Am I depending on His Spirit for strength?"

In summary, every action that pleases God must flow from faith. Faith is not only the foundation of our relationship with Him but also the motivation and power behind everything we do in His name. Without faith, even good deeds fall short of God's glory (Romans 3:23). Faith is what makes our lives truly pleasing to Him.

Faith Is the Essential Core

  • Faith is not just a prerequisite; it is the heart of everything God wants and delights in.
  • Even seemingly good deeds or attitudes, if done apart from faith, lack the spiritual alignment and purpose that please God.

Romans 14:23: "Whatever does not proceed from faith is sin."

Faith is not just one thing that pleases God—it is the essence of all that pleases Him. Without faith, even the best intentions fall short. With faith, our lives reflect His glory and bring Him joy.

THE TRUE BLESSESESS:

Our identity with Christ is more than Earthly Tie:

Genuine blessing comes from a spiritual relationship with God rather than earthly relationships or positions.

In saying that God "raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms, Paul emphasizes the intimate and transformative relationship believers have with Jesus Christ. This is not just a future promise but a present reality in a spiritual sense  Ephesians 2:5

Luke 11: 27-28

As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, “Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.” He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the Word of God and obey it.”

In this passage, Jesus is speaking to a crowd of people, and a woman in the crowd expresses a blessing upon His mother, Mary, for giving birth to and nursing Him. The woman's comment reflects the high regard and admiration that many had for Mary as the mother of Jesus.

However, Jesus responds with a broader message. He emphasizes that while it is indeed a blessing to be His mother, an even greater blessing is bestowed upon those who not only hear the word of God but also obey it. This statement underscores the importance of faith and obedience to God's teachings as a path to true spiritual blessedness.

In essence, Jesus is redirecting the focus from His earthly family to the spiritual family of those who follow God's Word and live by it. He encourages people to prioritize their relationship with God and their obedience to His teachings above all else.

Mary's ministry was to conceive Jesus, and her position was as the mother of Christ on Earth. It is not about your ministry, it is not about your position, but how you respond when you hear from God. It is about hearing and obeying the Word.

THE IMAGE OF GOD:

Before the Creation:

Genesis 1:26-27

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our IMAGE, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over [a]all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

After the Fall:

2 Corinthians 4:4

Whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the IMAGE of God, should shine on them.

Through Jesus Christ:

Colossians 1:15-17

The Son is the IMAGE of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.  For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.  He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

The Fulfilment:

Romans 8:29

For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the IMAGE of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Given

The image of God in us is the Holy Spirit in dwelling in us

For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the IMAGE of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

LIVING IN THE SPIRIT:

Galatians 5:25

Living in the Spirit walks in the Spirit and you cannot walk in the Spirit if you are not born in the Spirit.

Walk in the Spirit:

You cannot walk in the Spirit if you are not Born in the Spirit. Job 33:4

Walk in the Spirit, is to live our lives guided by the Holy Spirit, to live according to the Spirit's guidance and influence, making decisions and choices with spiritual discernment by the principles of faith and grace. By doing so, they can avoid giving in to the "lust of the flesh," which refers to sinful desires or actions driven by human desires, contrary to God's will.

JESUS is the only WAY the truth and the life John 14:6

  • Walk in the Spirit: Galatians 5:25
  • WAY Salvation Acts 4:12

-TRUTH  Deliverance John 8:32   - LIFE  Worship Isaiah 38:18-19

Stand in the Word of God:John 17:17The truth that set us free. John 1:1,14
Through Praise And Worship:
Praising God is based on Romans 11:36, which says that all glory belongs to Him forever and ever.

  • "From Him" acknowledges God as the source of all things."

It's His Spirit that He has given us; without it, we cannot be connected to the Lord.We receive the Spirit of God when we receive His Word with faith." "He breathed on us (John 20:22)" → "He breathed on us (John 20:22)" (correct verse reference) "The Word that has life and Spirit (John 6:63)" → "The Word that has life and Spirit (John 6:63)" (add a comma)

  • "It is through Him." → "It is through Him," (add a comma)

"Our lives belong to Him." → "Our lives belong to Him," (add a comma) "The dead could not praise and worship God. Only the living can praise and worship God." → "The dead cannot praise and worship God; only the living can praise and worship God." "God is looking for worshippers that will worship Him in Spirit and in truth." → "God is looking for worshipers who will worship Him in Spirit and in truth."John 4:23-24"God will reveal Himself, the truth about Him." → "God will reveal Himself and the truth about Him." "The God of all power and authorities in heaven and earth." → "The God of all power and authority in heaven and earth."

  • "For Him because all things exist for God's purpose and glory." → "For Him, because all things exist for God's purpose and glory."

Flesh And Spirit:
FLESH means human nature human nature or the sinful and worldly inclinations of the worldly system. It is associated with human weaknesses, temptations, and desires that can lead people away from God's will.   That is the reason why Jesus Christ has come in the flesh, under the law Galatians 5:18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. (Galatians 4:4-5, Romans 8: 15)  Walk in the Spirit, is to live our lives guided by the Holy Spirit, to live according to the Spirit's guidance and influence, making decisions and choices with spiritual discernment by the principles of faith and grace. By doing so, they can avoid giving in to the "lust of the flesh," which refers to sinful desires or actions driven by human desires, contrary to God's will.

How can a man be Born in the Spirit?

That was the question of Nicodemus to Jesus Christ in John 3. Nicodemus was a well-known teacher of the law. He came to Jesus during the night because he was ashamed to be seen by people asking Jesus. Nicodemus asked Jesus, how can a man be born again if he is old? Can he enter his mother's womb the second time to be born?

Nicodemus is a type of person that is not born in the Spirit. He is an example of a person who lives in the realm of the natural mind found in 1 Corinthians 2:14

Natural man is dependent on the worldly knowledge and understanding. They use human logic all the time, but God often transcends human understanding and may go beyond what human logic can grasp.

The things of God can only be perceived by those who are born 0f the Spirit. It demands faith and a divine connection with the Holy Spirit to perceive and appreciate the deeper truths hidden from the natural mind.

Living in the Spirit: means you are born in the Spirit, and born in the Spirit are Born again, reside in the Kingdom of God.

How would you know that you reside in the Kingdom of God?

John 3:3 Some people can see the Kingdom of God but they can't enter because  according to

Matthew 13:19 they hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path.

The reason they don't understand because the Holy Spirit is not present, they did not receive the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit cannot move without their personal encounter with the Word. They cannot encoounter the Word if

John 3:5

Jesus answered, "Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. How did you become adopted? i John 5:1,  John 1:12-13, 1 John 3:9.

God's seed(represents the divine nature or the presence of God within you.

Outside the Kingdom, you conform to the pattern of this world. Inside the Kingdom, you conform to the image of His Son.

  • Those who are born of God reside in the Kingdom. Our responsibilities in the Kingdom are  Colossians 3:1-2 (the sovereignty of God, what He said, what HIs will  and purpose) , Galatians 5:16-18. The manifestation of being in the Kingdom is in Romans 14:17, meaning not just to satisfy your flesh but as a whole. You have the righteousness of God, peace, and joy that the world cannot give. The natural mind said, "Lord, I am just a rag before you." No, you cannot say that because you are the son and daughter of the King. Corinthians 8:9

2 Corinthians 4:4

The God of this age has blinded those who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

What are the things of God?

a. His Word

The Holy Spirit plays a crucial role in understanding and interpreting the Word of God, which is the Bible. He will guide you into all truth. John 16:13 The Holy Spirit helps believers understand and receive the truth of God's Word.

When a natural person reads the Word of God, they may gain knowledge. Only intellectual stays in their mind. They use it as an opportunity to boast and engage in debates. However, those born of the Spirit experience a transformative change when they engage with the Word of God.

d. His will and purpose

2. You cannot see and enter the Kingdom of God

John 3:3,5

3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.

Once you are in the Kingdom, you are processing. There is sanctification by the Word, and leading by the Holy Spirit.

  • Holy Spirit resides within those who have experienced a spiritual rebirth or a "born again" experience.

3. You do not have a relationship with God.  Romans 8:15-16

4. You cannot live in the Kingdom of God. Colossians 3:1-2, Galatians 5:16-18 You are lign with God.

5. You cannot worship God   John 4:23-24

6. You cannot please God. Romans 8:8 , Hebrews 11:6

7. You are not saved.  Titus 3:5

Living in the Kingdom of God is walking in the Spirit and walking in the Spirit is walking by faith.

Living in the Kingdom: Romans 14:17

You are embracing the reign of God ,acknowledging God's reign over your life. and recognizing God's sovereignty as the ultimate authority. It involves aligning one's thoughts, actions, and values with the principles and values of God's kingdom.

When one lives in the Kingdom of God, they are acknowledging God's reign over their life. This recognition leads to a desire to align with God's will and participate in the values and priorities of His kingdom.

Walking in the Spirit:

You are living a life that is guided by the Holy Spirit. It means seeking the Spirit's leading, allowing the Spirit to shape one's decisions and actions, and being open to the transformative work of the Spirit in all areas of life. Enables believers to understand and carry out God's will and empowers us with the Holy Spirit poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ Our Lord.

Walking by Faith:

Making choices and living based on trust in God's promises and guidance, even when circumstances might seem uncertain or challenging. It's about relying on spiritual insight rather than depending solely on visible evidence or human reasoning.

Faith is at the core of living in the Kingdom and walking in the Spirit. Trusting in God's guidance and promises is essential for both. Faith acknowledges that God's ways are higher and more trustworthy than our own understanding.

Foolishness to the natural man: because it often goes against worldly wisdom and logic and requires a spiritual understanding to be fully appreciated. Man has limited understanding, especially when it comes to the nature of God. The Holy Spirit reveals to us the deeper things of God.

Spiritually Discern: Understanding and receiving the things of the Spirit of God require spiritual discernment. Spiritual discernment goes beyond human intellect. The Holy Spirit enables believers to comprehend and appreciate spiritual things.

Living in the Kingdom of God means focusing on God—His goodness, power, provision, faithfulness, and the call to experience His presence. The center of our lives revolves around God and His attributes as we live in His Kingdom.

Mark 10:18, Ephesians 3:20, 2 Corinthians 9:8, Hebrews 10:23, Psalm 34:8

Living in the Spirit:

Living in the Spirit means you are born of God who resides in the Kingdom of God, walking and living  by faith:

You cannot live in the Spirit unless you are born of God.  Once you believe that Jesus is the Christ (the Mesiah and Savior) you resides in the Kingdom of God. 1 John 3:9  Now if you are born of God you will not continue to sin, because God's seed (represent the divine nature or the presence of God within you) remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God."

Living in the Kingdom:

You are embracing the reign of God ,acknowledging God's reign over your life. and recognizing God's sovereignty as the ultimate authority. It involves aligning one's thoughts, actions, and values with the principles and values of God's kingdom.

When one lives in the Kingdom of God, they are acknowledging God's reign over their life. This recognition leads to a desire to align with God's will and participate in the values and priorities of His kingdom.

Romans 14:17 Righteousness, peace, and joy are our quality of living in the Kingdom of God through the Holy Spirit.

Colossians 3:2 Focus on heavenly and spiritual matters rather than solely on earthly concerns.

Focus on God's Word, His promises, His will, and His purpose. Focus on what he has done, not on what we are doing. Focus on His love, not on our love.

  • Outside the Kingdom, you conform to the pattern of this world. Inside the Kingdom, you conform to the image of His Son.
  • Once you are in the Kingdom, you are processing. There is sanctification by the Word, and leading by the Holy Spirit.

Walking in the Spirit:

You are living a life that is guided by the Holy Spirit. It means seeking the Spirit's leading, allowing the Spirit to shape one's decisions and actions, and being open to the transformative work of the Spirit in all areas of life. Enables believers to understand and carry out God's will.

Galatians 5:16   walking by the Spirit involves making choices that are in line with God's will, which contrasts with fulfilling selfish desires. Walking in the Spirit leads to a transformation that enables believers to overcome the desires of the flesh.

Walking by Faith:  Romans 8:8 , Hebrews 11:6

Making choices and living based on trust in God's promises and guidance, even when circumstances might seem uncertain or challenging. It's about relying on spiritual insight rather than depending solely on visible evidence or human reasoning.

Faith is at the core of living in the Kingdom and walking in the Spirit. Trusting in God's guidance and promises is essential for both. Faith acknowledges that God's ways are higher and more trustworthy than our own understanding.

Teaching:

God's descire is to save peple and come to the knowldge of Him. (1 Timothy 2:4)

The first  command of Jesus before he went up to heaven was "go and make disciple. "Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, 'If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.'" John 8:31-32

"This verse conveys that we  believe, hold on to, and take a firm stand on the truth, receiving it continuously and following His words. It requires an ongoing commitment to His teachings and way of life. When we actively seek the truth, it will set us free. The outcome is becoming God's children, being born again (John 1:12-13), and receiving salvation (1 Corinthians 15:1-2).

However, if we don't hold fast to His Word and fail to stand on it, our belief becomes superficial, and our commitment is in vain. In this case, we are merely sympathizers who have not yet truly received salvation."

The Power of Connection

Connection with others is essential for our well-being. Whether through community, friendship, or romantic relationships, human connection can provide us with support, love, and a sense of belonging.

Seven Last Word:

Fourth Word: “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

In Matthew 27:46 About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

"Why didn't Jesus call God 'Father'? Why not 'Father, Father, my Father'?

"Bakit hindi tinawag ni Jesus ang Diyos na 'Ama'? Bakit hindi 'Ama, Ama, aking Ama'?

The cry of Jesus here is the cry of a man who calls out to God because of the great  anguish of suffering. Because Jesus represents human beings."

  • At the time the relationship of God and the humananity through Abraham's faith, humanity entered into a covenantal relationship with God, as a friendship.

The suffering of Jesus was prophesied in the Old Testament, as found in Psalm 22:1. When Jesus quoted Matthew 27:46 from the cross, he not only cried out in his suffering but also declared what was written, drawing attention to the fulfillment of the prophecy in the old testament. Jesus proves himself as the promised Messiah and demonstrates how the events in his life and death were foretold. This shows the connection between the Old and New Testament and the fulfillment of God's plan for redemption through Jesus Christ. His suffering expresses a deep distress (extreme hardship) that Jesus experienced at that moment.

There are a few important aspects to understand about why Jesus said this:

May ilang mahahalagang dahilan kung bakit sinabi ito ni Hesus:

1. Identification with Humanity: Jesus, being fully divine and fully human,

He experienced a great and intense feeling of suffering as a human being.

At that moment, he bore the weight of the sins of the whole world.

His separation from God the Father was not because he was no longer loved

or forsaken, but because of the sins of the whole world placed on his

shoulders. Separation from God the Father is a profound spiritual consequence. Jesus is the atonement for the sins of mankind.

2. Fulfillment of Scripture: By quoting Psalm 22, Jesus fulfilled a messianic prophecy. Psalm 22 is a Psalm of David that contains descriptions

that closely parallel the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus.

It begins with the words spoken by Jesus, and throughout the psalm there is a vivid description of the crucifixion, mockery and suffering, which found their fulfillment in the experience of Jesus on the cross.

3. Redemptive Purpose:Jesus' suffering on the cross was an important moment in God's plan of salvation. Through his cry, it testifies that Jesus bore all the punishment due to the sin that separated man from God, and the greatness of God's wrath against sin made Him not turn away from His Son on the cross.

Through the sacrificial death and resurrection, Jesus redeemed the sins of humanity, bringing them to death on the cross to reconcile us to God. His cry is evidence  of a human who suffered because of the sins of the world.

It demonstrates the depth of His sacrifice and the value of our redemption. His obedience to the cross made us righteous. Our faith in Jesus transfers God’s righteousness to us, and He now declares us flawless in God's eyes. This means we can nowenjoy true and lasting peace with God, all because of what our Lord Jesus did on the cross of Calvary.

In summary, Jesus' cry from the cross expresses his identification with human

suffering, fulfills Messianic prophecy, and underscores the redemptive

purpose of his crucifixion. It is a profound moment that demonstrates the

depth of God's love and the extent to which Jesus was willing to go to save humanity.

Fifth Word: "I Am Thirsty":

When Jesus said, "I thirst" while on the cross, it was a statement reflecting his physical suffering and humanity. This moment is recorded in John 19:28.

Limaing Salita: "Nauuhaw Ako":

There are several reasons why Jesus uttered these words:

1. Physical Suffering: The Crucifixion is an extremely painful form of punishment that causes intense suffering due to the loss of blood and bodily fluids. Jesus, in his human form, experienced severe physical agony and distress during his ordeal on the cross. By expressing his agony, Jesus revealed his true nature and the reality of his suffering 1 John 4:2–3

1 Juan 4:2–3

2. Fulfillment of Scripture: Jesus' statement also fulfilled a prophecy from the Old Testament. In  Psalm 69:21, Psalm 22:15 , it says, "They put gall in my food and gave me vinegar for my thirst." By expressing his thirst, Jesus fulfilled this prophecy, demonstrating his role as the suffering servant foretold in the Scriptures.

3. Identification with Humanity: Through his suffering on the cross, Jesus identified with the pain and struggles of humanity. His experience of thirst allowed him to connect with the physical needs and sufferings of humanity, showing his solidarity with us in our weaknesses and vulnerabilities.

4. Symbolic Meaning: While Jesus' statement had a literal meaning related to his physical condition, it also carries symbolic significance. In John's Gospel, Jesus often speaks in symbolic language to convey deeper spiritual truths. His statement "I thirst" can be understood metaphorically as expressing his desire to fulfill the purposes of God and bring salvation to humanity through his sacrificial death. As a result of his thirst, he is now the one who gives the water of life. John 4:14

Juan 4:14

Overall, Jesus' statement "I thirst" reflects both his physical suffering on the cross and his deeper spiritual mission to redeem humanity. It underscores his humanity, fulfillment of prophecy, identification with human suffering, and symbolic significance in the plan of salvation.

3. The Third Word of Jesus (John 19:26-27).  When Jesus recognized His mother standing near the cross with the Apostle John, He entrusted His mother’s well-being to John’s responsibility.  “Dear Woman, here is your son!” and “Here is your mother!”

If we notice in the Bible, it does not record any instance where Jesus directly addresses Mary as 'mother.' However, addressing Mary as 'woman' was not disrespectful in the cultural context of the time. In ancient Jewish culture, the term 'woman' could be used as a polite and highly respectful form of address. In His final moments, Jesus demonstrated His concern for His mother's welfare, as well as His deep love and sense of responsibility for her, by entrusting her care to His beloved disciple John and asking him to accept Mary as his own mother. (Just imagine at that moment Jesus was in agony but he showed his love and care to his mother).

Although we know that Jesus was born of Mary in the flesh, conceived by the Holy Spirit, His role as the Messiah and Son of God transcends earthly relationships. Jesus was not only Mary's son on earth but also her spiritual redeemer. In calling Mary "woman," Jesus emphasizes her role not only as His biological mother but also as a representative of humanity, symbolizing the spiritual relationship between Jesus and all believers. This is reflected in This can be seen in Matthew 12:48-50, where Jesus said that his mother and brothers are those who do the will of His Father in heaven. Here, Jesus showed that true relationship with Him is through faith with obedience to His will by the bonds of love and grace within the body of believers, establishing a new spiritual family and community among them." (through the Spirit of adoption. In Matthew 12:48-50, Jesus said that His mother and brothers are those who do the will of His Father in heaven. Here, Jesus showed that a true relationship with Him is achieved through faith and obedience to His will, bound together by love and grace within the body of believers, establishing a new spiritual family and community among them (through the Spirit of adoption, as mentioned in Romans 8:15)

A symbolic meaning can be drawn from Jesus’s words “Woman, behold your son.” Establishing the family of God was at the heart of Christ’s mission and ministry. Through relationship with Jesus Christ, believers become members of a new family (John 1:12). As the Lord completed His earthly ministry, His words to Mary, “Woman, behold your son,” and to John, “Here is your mother,” were profoundly illustrative of God’s new family being born at the foot of the cross.

THREE DAYS OF DAKNESS:

Matthew 12:40 VS Matthew 27:45:

The story of Jonah in Matthew 12:40, where Jesus refers to Jonah spending three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish. In Matthew 27:45, when Jesus was on the cross, darkness covered the land for three days.

The comparison between these two events serves a symbolic and prophetic purpose:

  • Symbolism of Darkness: In both instances, darkness symbolizes judgment and suffering. The darkness during Jesus' crucifixion reflects the gravity of the moment, signifying the weight of sin and the separation from God. Similarly, Jonah's descent into the belly of the fish represents his despair and isolation, reflecting the consequences of disobedience. Isaiah 53:3-5, Amos 8:9
  • Foreshadowing Jesus' Death and Resurrection: Just as Jonah spent three days in the belly of the fish before being delivered, Jesus prophesied that He would spend three days in the heart of the earth before His resurrection (Matthew 12:40). This comparison emphasizes the significance of Jesus' death and resurrection as the ultimate sign of redemption and victory over sin and death. Matthew 16:21, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
  • Sign of the Messiah: By referring to Jonah's experience, Jesus is also pointing to Himself as the fulfillment of prophecy. He is drawing attention to the fact that His own death and resurrection would serve as the ultimate sign of His identity as the Messiah, just as Jonah's deliverance from the fish signified God's intervention and mercy. Matthew 16:4, John 2:18-22

Overall, the comparison between the darkness during Jesus' crucifixion and Jonah's time in the belly of the fish underscores the depth of Jesus' sacrifice and the fulfillment of prophecy in His death and resurrection.

"Love and obedience are the work of faith"

Love And Obedience:

Our Faith is in the Love of God in us and our Obedience is the act of our Faith in Him. Inspired by His love He placed in our hearts. Romans 5:5

Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

Colotians 1:1-14

Colotians 1:1-14

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,

2 To God’s holy people in Colossae, the faithful brothers and sisters in Christ:

Grace and peace to you from God our Father

Thanksgiving and Prayer

3 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, 4 because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people— 5 the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel 6 that has come to you. In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world—just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace. 7 You learned it from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant,  who is a faithful minister of Christ on our behalf, 8 and who also told us of your love in the Spirit.

9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, 10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, 12 and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you  to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

The Holy of Holiest:

Where God Dwelt

The Holy of Holies: Where God and Man Met Together.

Inside the Holy of Holiest is the Ark of the Covenant. No light inside other than the glow from God's glory, His  divine presence. a room so sacred only the high priest could enter it, and then only one day out of the entire year.

The Ark of the Covenant:

The Ark of the Covenant is a sacred chest containing the tablets of the Ten Commandments, Aaron's rod, and a jar of manna.

The Power of Meditation

Meditation is a spiritual practice that has been used for centuries in different faiths. It involves quieting the mind and focusing on a particular thought or object. Meditation can help reduce stress, improve concentration, and enhance overall well-being.

Corrective Discipline and Eternal Destinies

Unbelievers:

Unbelievers face the wrath of God which entails eternal separation from Him, commonly referred to as hell.

The wrath of God:

  •  Do not believe in Jesus Christ means "you do not obey. This is one of the clearest scriptural references to the concept of divine judgment based on faith and obedience. John 3:36

Those who do not obey the Son (do not believe in Jesus Christ) remain under the wrath of

God. This is one of the clear scriptural references to the concept of divine judgment based

         on belief and obedience.

  • Unrighteousness suppress the truth; conduct (behavior) and moral choices that go against God's Word.Romans 1:18
  • Deceptions with empty words; false teachings and  belief, misleading messages, hollow promises all that contradict the teachings of Christ and Scripture. Ephesians 5:6
  • Those who do not know God and to those who do not obey. 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9

Loving Him is keeping His Word John 14:23-24,

Eternal Seperation;

  • Where Jesus describes the final judgment in  the parable of the Sheep and the Goats (Matthew 25:31-46), which is a clear reference to hell as a state of everlasting separation from God.
  • Everlasting destruction, their punishment and their separation from the presence of the Lord. 2 Thessalonians 1:9
  • The lake of fire is the second death; where those not found in the Book of Life are cast into the lake of fire, symbolizing eternal separation and punishment. Revelation 20:14-15

This separation is the ultimate consequence of rejecting God's offer of salvation and living a life of rebellion against Him.

Believers:

Believers, on the other hand, are assured of salvation and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. They possess eternal life and are securely held in the Father's hands. This assurance of eternal life suggests that believers are indeed spared from the ultimate consequences of God's wrath. Instead, they have the promise of eternal life with God.

Promise of Eternal Life:

  • Whoever believes in Him John 3:15,  John 3:36
  • The free gift of God in Christ Romans 6:23
  • The promise 1 John 2:25
  • The hope given before the foundation of the world Titus 1:2

Assurance of Salvation:

  • It is the gift of God.Ephesians 2:8-9
  • No one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand." John 10:28-29
  • We cannot be separate us from the love of God. Romans 8:38-39
  • What He has begun He will complete (what He say He do) Philippians 1:6

The eternal security of the believer, grounded in the faithfulness of God and the effectiveness of Christ's work on the cross.

Forgiveness of Sin:

  • Through his blood,  Ephesians 1:7
  • Through His name,  Acts 10:43
  • Through confession 1 John 1:9
  • Through faith Matthew 9:5

To be Tested:

God allows His children to be tested and it is not His nature to harm or hurt them. Instead, God is portrayed as loving, merciful, and compassionate, desiring the best for His children.

        To be Tested:

  • Testing of your faith produce perseverance  James 1:2-4
  • Proven genuineness of your faith  may result in praise, glory and honor 1 Peter 1:6-7
  • Test of faithfulness and integrity. Job 1:8-12
  • Testing of Obedience   Job 1:8-12.
  • You won't be given a test you can't handle 1 Corinthians 10:13

Tests are part of the Christian life and are used by God to develop faith, perseverance, and

         spiritual strength in His followers.

It is not His nature to harm:

  • God’s intentions are for good and not to harm. Jeremiah 29:11
  • A protector and helper, rather than one who brings harm. Psalm 46:1
  • God works according to his purpose Romans 8:28
  • God’s nature as a loving father Matthew 7:11
  • God is the source of all good things James 1:17

Devil's Deception:

While the deception and influence of the devil can lead believers astray or cause them harm, believers are encouraged to resist the devil and stand firm in their faith (James 4:7). God provides strength and resources for believers to overcome the schemes of the devil and remain steadfast in their relationship with Him.

God's Discipline:

God's discipline is not intended to injure or hurt believers like a rod that man uses to beat a child in discipline. The rod in Psalm 23:4 does not hurt.. Rather, discipline from God is often understood as corrective in nature, intended to guide and train believers toward righteousness and spiritual growth (2 Timothy 3:16). It is meant to lead believers to righteousness, spiritual maturity, and a deeper relationship with Him. This discipline can take many forms, such as the judgment of sin, challenges, trials, or even the natural consequences of actions. (Genesis 4:7)"

He who believes in the Son has eternal life; he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God rests on him."This verse explicitly contrasts the fate of believers with that of unbelievers, stating that while believers receive eternal life, those who do not obey the Son (i.e., do not believe in Jesus Christ) remain under the wrath of God. This is one of the clear scriptural references to the concept of divine judgment based on belief and obedience.

Hear And Obey

Luke 11: 27-28

This message is a reminder of the importance of being a believer: how you hear from God and how we respond to what we hear from Him. As we hear and obey..."

As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, “Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.” He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the Word of God and obey it.”

Blessed  "A woman who listens to the crowd with Jesus does not see herself with Jesus; her focus is different. She said that blessed is the person who gave birth to Jesus, instead of seeing herself as blessed because she was with Jesus."

Mother  "This story takes place when Jesus was teaching the crowd. One person from the crowd mentioned that his mother and brothers were there. However, let's see what Jesus said in Matthew 12:48-50."

"Jesus teaches here that his mother and brother are the ones who do the will of His Father in heaven. That is, if we claim to have a relationship with Jesus, we can hear and obey because we cannot do the will of the Father unless we listen and obey what we have heard from Him."

obey  "Our obedience is an act of our faith in Him. The first step of obedience is our faith, and our subsequent steps are the grace of God working within us. We can accomplish things not by might nor by power, but by the Spirit, says the Lord. In our weaknesses, the strength of God will be seen in us."

James 1:22

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.Hearing and Obeying God's Word is vital to life-changing transformation. The goal of all learning is obedience to God's Word, and thus honoring His name. 2 Corinthians 3:2-3

"We are more blessed than Mary because Mary bore the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and Mary gave birth to Him as a man. Jesus stripped off his Godhood, living as a man on Earth. This is why He told His disciples not to call Him good, because God alone is good, and Jesus was in human form during His time on Earth. However, when He died on the cross, He rose again not in the flesh but glorified body.

"Before He ascended into heaven, He gave us His Spirit, the Spirit of God, to help us here on Earth until the return of Jesus. Yes, we are already justified by the blood of Jesus, but we are being sanctified daily by the Holy Spirit."

The principle of "hear and obey" in a biblical context refers to the call for believers to listen to God's word and then act accordingly. This concept is foundational in both the Old and New Testaments and is essential for a faithful, obedient relationship with God. Here’s a breakdown of how it is presented in the Bible:

  1. Hearing God’s Word:
    • Old Testament: The Shema, found in Deuteronomy 6:4-5, begins with "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one." This call to hear is foundational in Jewish theology and emphasizes the importance of recognizing God's sovereignty and His commandments.
    • New Testament: Jesus often used the phrase, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear," emphasizing the importance of not just physically hearing but truly understanding and internalizing His teachings.

  1. Obeying God’s Word:
    • Old Testament: Obedience is a central theme throughout, with blessings often conditioned on the Israelites’ obedience to God’s laws and commandments (Deuteronomy 28:1-2). The prophets also repeatedly called the people to return to obedience as a sign of their faithfulness to God.
  • The Commandment in the Old Testament is the 10 Commandment was given to Moses Exodus 20:1-17, Deuteronomy 5:6-21 while in the New Testament Jesus summarizes in Matthew 22:37-40, John 13:34
    • New Testament: Obedience shifts from a strict adherence to the Law towards a more relational obedience grounded in love for Christ. Jesus teaches that loving Him means keeping His commands (John 14:23), and the epistles frequently call believers to live out their faith through obedient actions.

Foundationally, "hear and obey" is about forming a relationship where God’s word directs one's life. This involves:

  • Listening to God: This can be through Scripture, prayer, and the counsel of the Christian community.

  • Understanding God's Will: This involves discerning what God's teachings and commandments mean for one’s life.

  • Acting in Accordance: This means aligning one’s actions with God's will as understood through His word.

In practical terms, "hear and obey" serves as a continual cycle of receiving God’s word, understanding it, and applying it, which is essential for spiritual growth and faithful living. This principle underlies many biblical teachings and is crucial for anyone seeking to live a life pleasing to God.

How to Hear from God?

Hearing from God is a deeply personal and often unique experience for each believer, shaped by their relationship with God and their spiritual practices. Here are some general guidelines that many Christians find helpful in seeking to hear from God:

  1. Prayer: Prayer is fundamental. It’s a two-way conversation with God where you not only speak but also listen. Being still and quiet can help you hear God’s voice or sense His guidance.
  2. Reading Scripture: The Bible is considered God's revealed word and primary way of speaking to us. Regular, prayerful reading of the Bible can open your heart to God’s messages and reinforce His truths and promises.
  3. Meditation: This involves pondering God’s Word and truths, allowing them to deeply influence your thoughts and actions. Meditation can clarify God’s teachings and how they apply to your life.
  4. Seeking Wise Counsel: Conversations with spiritually mature friends or mentors can provide clarity and guidance. Often, God uses others to speak into our lives.
  5. Worship: Participating in worship, both privately and within a community, can attune your heart to God’s presence and voice. Worship provides an environment conducive to experiencing God.
  6. Observing God's Work: Sometimes, recognizing how God is working in your life and the lives of others can help you hear from Him. This might come through circumstances or in answering prayers.
  7. Journaling: Writing down your thoughts, prayers, and any perceived responses from God can help you see patterns and discern His leading over time.
  8. Spiritual Discernment: This involves asking the Holy Spirit to guide your understanding and decisions. The Holy Spirit is promised to believers as a helper and guide (John 16:13).
  9. Fasting: Fasting can sharpen your spiritual sensitivity and heighten your focus on God. It's often used as a way to deepen prayer and connection to God’s voice.

Repeatition of Word in the Bible:

Significant and Reinforce:

When a word is repeated in the Bible, it signifies emphasis and the reinforcement of important spiritual truths. Examples include Faith to faith (Romans 1:17), Grace to grace (John 1:16), Rejoice, and again I say rejoice (Philippians 4:4), and The truth and the truth (John 8:32).

Faith to Faith

Meaning: Faith begins with an initial act of belief (Galatians 3:2—"hearing with faith") and continues to grow, moving from one level of faith to another. It highlights the foundational role of faith in the Christian life.

  • Romans 1:17: "For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith.’"
  • Galatians 3:3: "Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?"
  • Matthew 24:13: "But the one who endures to the end will be saved."

Faith is a journey that starts with belief, grows deeper, and becomes the essence of the Christian walk.

Grace Upon Grace

Meaning: The abundant and overflowing nature of God’s grace is limitless and immeasurable, continuously and generously provided layer upon layer. This reflects God's unmerited favor to humanity.

  • John 1:16: "From His fullness, we have all received grace upon grace."
  • 2 Corinthians 12:9: "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
  • Romans 5:20-21: "Where sin increased, grace abounded all the more."

God’s grace doesn’t allow us to persist in sin but transforms us daily, helping us walk in holiness through the Holy Spirit.

From Glory to Glory

Meaning: An ongoing process of transformation and spiritual growth for believers. As they behold the glory of the Lord, they are transformed into His image, progressing from one level of glory to another. This emphasizes spiritual maturity and the work of the Holy Spirit.

  • 2 Corinthians 3:18: "We all, with unveiled faces, contemplate the Lord’s glory, being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."
  • 1 Corinthians 1:8: "He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ."

This transformation is rooted in Christ’s resurrection and leads believers to a life of holiness and steadfastness.

The Truth and the Truth

Meaning: "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free" (John 8:32). Knowing the truth frees individuals from ignorance, lies, and bondage. Jesus emphasized that only God’s Word is the ultimate truth that liberates.

In repeating "truth," Jesus underscores the certainty and power of the Word of God to bring true freedom and enlightenment.

Each phrase emphasizes different aspects of the Christian journey: faith as the foundation, grace as the unending source of strength, glory as the transformative process, and truth as the liberating power of God’s Word.

Kapag inulit ulit ang salita sa bible ibig sabihin binibigyang diin (to emphasize and reinforse important spiritual truths. Tulad ng Faith to faith sa (Romans 1:17),  grace to grace (John 1:16), rejoice and I said rejoice (Phil 4:4), The truth and the truth John 8:32)

FAITH TO FAITH: meaning it started with faith (Gal 3:2- hearing with faith) and it ends up to faith. Faith begins with an initial act of belief and continues to grow and deepen from one level of faith to another. It emphasizes the importance of faith as the foundation of the Christian life.

Galatians 3:3 Galacia 3:3Magandang Balita Biblia

3 Talagang napakahangal ninyo!

Biyaya ng Diyos na walang limitasyon, hindi masusukat kundi patuloy na sumasagana at patong-patong (grace not in limited measure but continuously and abundantly, layer by layer. It reflects the richness and generosity of God's undeserved favor to mankind.

FROM GLORY TO GLORY: ongoing process of change and spiritual growth in the lives of believers (prosesong pagbabago at espirituwal na paglago sa buhay ng mga mananampalataya), behold the glory of the Lord (nakikita at namamasdan ang kaluwalhatian ng Panginoon), they are continually being transformed into His likeness, moving from one level of glory to another. It emphasizes the progressive nature of spiritual maturity and the work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers.

"Glory to glory" (2 Corinthians 3:18):   And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. Kilos , salita at gawa

Receive the Power & Authority

How do you RECEIVE power and Authority from God?

Receiving power and authority from God involves a combination of spiritual practices, faith, surrender, and aligning your life with God's will. Here are key steps to help guide you on this journey:

1. Develop a Close Relationship with God

  • Prayer and Communication: Spend time daily in prayer, seeking God's guidance and expressing your heart to Him.
  • Meditate on Scripture: Read and study the Bible regularly to understand God's promises and principles.
  • Worship and Adoration: Worship God in spirit and truth, acknowledging His greatness and submitting to His authority.
  • Studying and Applying Scripture: Regular study and application of the Bible can also contribute to receiving power and authority from God. The Scriptures contain principles, promises, and examples of how God equips His people for service and empowers them to fulfill His purposes (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

2. Receive the Holy Spirit

  • Faith in Jesus Christ: Believe in Jesus as your Lord and Savior (John 1:12, Acts 1:8). The power and authority of God flow through faith in Christ.
  • Ask for the Holy Spirit: Jesus promises the Holy Spirit to those who ask (Luke 11:13). The Spirit empowers believers to walk in God’s authority.
  • Walk in the Spirit: Stay connected to the Holy Spirit through prayer, obedience, and sensitivity to His guidance.
  • Holy Spirit Empowerment: Christians believe in the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, who enables believers to live according to God's will and empowers them for service. Through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, believers receive spiritual gifts and abilities to fulfill their calling (Acts 1:8).

3. Live a Life of Obedience

  • Align with God's Will: Submit your plans, desires, and actions to God's purpose (James 4:7).
  • Repentance: Confess sins and turn away from anything that separates you from God (1 John 1:9).
  • Faithful Stewardship: Use the gifts, talents, and opportunities God gives you to serve Him and others (Matthew 25:14-30).
  • Walking in Righteousness: Living a life characterized by righteousness, integrity, and obedience to God's commands can open the door for God's power and authority to operate through an individual. God often uses those who are faithful and upright in their conduct to accomplish His purposes (Proverbs 10:29).
  • Submission to God's Will: Surrendering to God's will and aligning one's desires and actions with His purposes can lead to the reception of power and authority. This includes being obedient to His commandments and seeking His direction in all things (James 4:7).

4. Trust in God’s Authority

  • Faith: Trust that God is the ultimate source of all power and authority, and He equips those who rely on Him (2 Corinthians 12:9).
  • Declare His Word: Speak God's promises over your life and situations. The Word of God carries authority (Isaiah 55:11).
  • Spiritual Authority: Understand your authority in Christ to overcome obstacles, sin, and spiritual forces (Luke 10:19).

5. Be Empowered by God's Mission

  • Kingdom Mindset: Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33).
  • Serve Others: Use God’s power to bless and help others, reflecting His love and compassion (Acts 10:38).
  • Boldness in Faith: Act in boldness, knowing that God works through you (2 Timothy 1:7).

6. Persevere in Faith and Humility

  • Endurance: Keep faith in trials and trust that God’s power is perfected in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).
  • Humility: Recognize that the power and authority you receive are for God's glory, not personal gain (1 Peter 5:6-7).
  • Continual Growth: Keep growing in faith, knowledge, and maturity in Christ (Colossians 2:6-7).
  • Faith and Prayer: Trusting in God's promises and seeking His guidance and empowerment through prayer. Jesus emphasized the importance of faith in receiving from God (Mark 11:24, Mark 9:28-29)

7. Pray for Power and Authority

  • Prayer for Empowerment: Ask God specifically for His power and authority to fulfill His will (Ephesians 3:16-19).
  • Pray in Jesus’ Name: When you pray in Jesus' name, you invoke His authority and align with His mission (John 14:13-14).

By seeking God sincerely and aligning your life with His principles, He will equip you with the spiritual power and authority needed to live victoriously and accomplish His purposes.

Christ the Anointed One

Christ:

The title "Christ" is derived from the Greek word Christos, meaning "Anointed One," which corresponds to the Hebrew word Mashiach (Messiah). The anointing signifies being chosen, set apart, and empowered by God for a divine mission. Jesus Christ, as the Anointed One, fulfills three key roles established in Scripture: Prophet, Priest, and King. Each role reveals His purpose and works for humanity.

1. Christ as the Anointed Prophet

A prophet speaks God’s Word to the people, revealing His will and truth. Jesus fulfills this role perfectly:

  • Biblical Foundation:
    • Deuteronomy 18:15 – "The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you."
    • Hebrews 1:1-2 – "In these last days, He has spoken to us by His Son."
  • Fulfillment in Christ:
Jesus declared, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor” (Luke 4:18). As the ultimate prophet, He revealed God's love, taught the way to eternal life, and called people to repentance.

Application:
Jesus, the Anointed Prophet, challenges us to listen to His teachings and align our lives with God's will. We are called to study His Word and follow His example of truth and grace.

2. Christ as the Anointed Priest

A priest mediates between God and humanity, offering sacrifices for the forgiveness of sins. Jesus is the perfect High Priest:

  • Biblical Foundation:
    • Psalm 110:4 – "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek."
    • Hebrews 9:12 – "He entered the Most Holy Place once for all by His own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption."
  • Fulfillment in Christ:
Jesus, through His sacrificial death on the cross, offered Himself as the ultimate atonement for sin. His resurrection ensures eternal life for those who trust in Him (Hebrews 7:25).

Application:
As the Anointed Priest, Jesus intercedes for us before God (Romans 8:34). We can approach God with confidence, knowing that our sins are forgiven through His sacrifice.

3. Christ as the Anointed King

A king rules and reigns with authority. Jesus is the eternal King of kings:

  • Biblical Foundation:
    • Isaiah 9:6-7 – "The government will be on His shoulders... of His kingdom, there will be no end."
    • Revelation 19:16 – "King of kings and Lord of lords."
  • Fulfillment in Christ:
Jesus declared, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me" (Matthew 28:18). His kingdom is spiritual and eternal, marked by righteousness, peace, and justice.

Application:
As the Anointed King, Jesus calls us to submit to His lordship. We honor Him by obeying His commands and advancing His kingdom through our lives.

Why the Anointing Matters

The anointing of Christ represents:

  1. God’s Choice and Empowerment: Jesus was chosen and empowered by the Holy Spirit to accomplish the divine mission of redemption (Acts 10:38).
  2. The Fulfillment of God’s Promise: Jesus is the long-awaited Messiah, fulfilling prophecies about the Savior.
  3. A Call to Believers: Through Christ, we are also anointed by the Holy Spirit to live out our calling as witnesses and servants (2 Corinthians 1:21-22).

Following Christ the Anointed One

Jesus, the Anointed Prophet, Priest, and King, calls us to trust Him completely. By His anointing, we are redeemed, guided, and empowered to live as His followers. Let us surrender to His authority, live by His truth, and proclaim His gospel so others may know the Anointed One who transforms lives.

"When did Jesus become Christ?"

Revelation 12:10, the verse says:

"Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down."

  1. Christ as the Anointed One of God
The title "Christ" means "Anointed" (from the Greek Christos, equivalent to the Hebrew Messiah). Anointing signifies being set apart for a holy mission. Jesus became Christ:
    • At His baptism (Matthew 3:16-17) when He was anointed with the Holy Spirit.
    • During His ministry when He revealed Himself as the Savior (Luke 4:18-21).
    • In His resurrection and ascension to God's right hand (Hebrews 1:3).

  1. Revelation 12:10 in context
This verse refers to Christ's victory over Satan, particularly His ascension to heaven and His establishment as King and Judge. According to Christian belief, this is a heavenly proclamation of His triumph through the Cross and resurrection.
  2. When did He become Christ?
    • In God's eternal plan: Jesus was already Christ before the creation of the world (John 17:5; 1 Peter 1:20).
    • In human history: He was recognized as Christ through His life, death, and resurrection (Acts 2:36, "God has made Him both Lord and Christ").

Jesus' being "Christ" can be seen in various stages of His life, but in God's plan, He was Christ from the beginning. In Revelation 12:10, His being Christ is connected to His ultimate victory over Satan and His role as the King of Salvation.
